ON being hopeless and homeless

Posted Jan 27 2010 10:00pm

Mental health issues reach everywhere. For about a year and a half Linda and I have had a ministry with a group of Alzheimers patients in a local nursing home. We do devotionals, play games and sometimes just talk and sing. Tonight we branched out farther. We became part of the homeless ministry of our church. This ministry goes out under the bridges and into the alleys where the homeless are found to make sure they are fed, clothed and above all else know that another human being cares for them. We are excited and nervous. The homeless, along with those in jail, are one of the great unattended populations of the mental health community. It is everyones greatest nightmare. And we hope a great opportunity for us to tell one of the most devastated groups of people that hope can be real for them too. Please pray for us and keep us in your thoughts.
