Mental Health Awareness Week; Bipolar Disorder Research Advances, Stigma Still Social Problem

This article,"Struggle and hope: Bipolar Illness Garners New Brain Research" in the Chicago Tribune by John Keilman , discusses some of the new discoveries researchers have found regarding Bipolar Disorder and genetics.
They are so optimistic as to say thay in future generations they may be able to predict the illness and actually prevent it. Wow!
Despite this huge advancement in medical research our society and their knowledge about mental illness is still far behind where we need to be. The stigma can not be addressed without providing knowledge.
Now we need to figure out how to get the public, law enforcement, and government to listen...
to be motivated to learn before it effects their family or before their actions effect us.
