I've been busy, I'm waaaaaaaay overdue for a post here. I lost one job and gained another (better) job. Today is supposed to be my last day on the job. But the company is holding my severance pay over my head and will only pay it out in weekly installments to ensure that I continue to help them. Next week I start my new job - I'm very excited. I've also had some free time to make alot of recruiting calls and have some promising candidates that I'm excited about.
Rob started a warehouse job today. Hooray! It's about time. I believe his last job was at least 6 months ago, if you want to count the 3 days he spent there. I really hope this works out. He has great incentive to hold on to this job - his car took a crap and he gave it away to someone willing to pay towing & storage.
Within five minutes of getting the call "you got the job", Rob was online searching for cars. Five minutes, no lie. Asking me questions about financing. How does one go about financing a car, getting credit established, yadda, yadda, yadda. I told him "only someone bipolar would be looking for cars to buy five minutes after landing a job". Is it the bipolar? Or is it Rob? Whatever, it's Rob.
He just called to tell me what a good job he is doing, and to let me know that he won't be coming home for lunch. What a sweetie, keeping Mom informed. I so love that he calls me with good news. When he's proud of himself.
Todd is toddling off to jail on Monday to serve a 10 day sentence for the DUI he got 2 years ago that was the icing on the cake of his wrecked, so-called life. So mean to say this but I'm looking forward to having my house back to myself. So selfish, so greedy. I do so love my aloneness. Being alone, ah.
It's raining today. A real rain, finally. It's been too long, the garden really needed it.
While I continue to amaze myself with how many different things I can write about that all relate back to the title of this post - the first thing I thought of when I titled the post was the album I had on loan from the library when I was about 15 or 16 or so - Rolling Stones' Hot Rocks. The library loaned it to me for what seems now like a year. Then my dad opened the Overdue Notice from the library and dragged me over there to turn it back in. I wonder how much he paid for that. Damn that's a good album. I just didn't want to give it back.
Thanks to all who said "hello" on my While I'm Away post. Feel free to keep adding comments, I read them all!
