FDA + DEA = Needless Suffering; but Seroquel for all!

Posted Feb 24 2010 12:00am

People suffer and die because the government “protects” us. It should protect us less and respect our liberty more.

AMEN (< click & read)

Why, in our “free” country, do Americans meekly stand aside and let the state limit our choices, even when we are dying?

Video clip “Is the FDA Protecting or Hurting Us?”

From one of many links at the AAPS site mentioned in the op/ed:

A Guide for Pain Treating Physicians (I think the author’s name is Dr. Snark/I like)

It is apparent when a chronic pain victim is addicted to opioids. If the drugs make the patient’s life better by controlling his pain, he is a pain patient. If they make his life worse, and use continues, addiction may be suspected. This distinction is not subtle

….but you can walk into virtually any doc, especially a pdoc’s office, complain of “insomnia” and score free samples of Seroquel to: use, abuse or sell.

Go figure *shrugs*
