I have learned that up to 80% of Bipolar Disorder patients are very musically oriented.  Music played and written by those has a significant impact on the quality of sound it expresses.  I have taught myself drums, guitar, keyboard, vocals, lyrics with ease.  Before I was diagnosed.  Now I realize it is the most helpful way to meet your "level."  No matter how up or down you are, give it a shot.  It is very self rewarding. (not hypomanic).  If you have bipolar disorder, take on something musical and discover a hidden talent.
