I just stumbled across a list of all the things that I’ve heard when depressed. It’s amusing because I’ve heard these recommendations elsewhere on positive thinking sites. Thus, adding to my loathing of the positive thinking movement.

Personally, I love the whole foods one. And I’ve heard it before. All I need is a little better nutrition and voila, I’ll feel better. Also, while living in the co-op, the community one came up a lot. If I just engage with people I’ll feel better. Not that engagement is the last thing that I really want to do. Finally, the last one, everyone has their problems, was apparently mentioned by CBS News. Great, more misinformation by the media about mental illness.
