Bio

Tasha Hanley was born profoundly deaf, in both ears. She was raised using sign language and became fully mainstreamed in fifth grade, using a sign language interpreter. At age 18, while attending the University of Washington, she decided to get a cochlear implant after using hearing aids on the highest volume and wishing to get the full spectrum of sounds around her. Activation on July 1st, 2008 made her officially bionic and she has never looked back since.
