 TheSpring 2009 Implementation Conferenceof the National Quality Forum will focus onOveruse in Healthcare. "More does not necessarily mean better when it comes to healthcare. A growing body of evidence demonstrates the pervasiveness of interventions that are excessive, inappropriate, and unscientific. The consequences of overuse include exposure to unnecessary harm, waste of resources that could be put to better use, and perpetuation of care that is uncoordinated.
