Ken Hillman is a practising intensive care specialist and Professor of Intensive Care at the University of New South Wales. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to talk with him at length in Brisbane this summer. Hillman now has a new article available at The Conversation (an independent source of information, analysis and commentary from the university and research sector written by acknowledged experts and delivered directly to the public). Hillman discusses futile treatment and compares the Australian situation to the "better" situation in Oregon.
