TheBoston Heraldreports: "A 7--year-old boy . . . Nathaniel Turner . . . allegedly beaten so severely he is brain-dead is still beingkept aliveat a Worcester hospital, a day after a judge cleared the way for his family to remove him from life support."
Wrong. If Nathaniel is brain dead, then even if he is on "life support" machines, he is not being "kept alive."
Brain death = death in all 50 states and DC. It necessarily = death in 47 states and DC. New Jersey, New York, and California give families some room to hold out for a cardiopulmonary death.
