Yellow Bike Project hits Kickstarter with Raise the Rex project

Posted Jan 31 2011 10:03am

A couple weeks ago, we let you know about a public art project the Austin Yellow Bike Project is working on called Raise the Rex. The project to be installed at their new headquarters on Webberville road will be a kinetic sculpture of a Tyrannosaurus Rex riding a bicycle and will be completely wind driven. If you missed the fundraising party to help with this project, you can still donate and check out a really great computer generated video of the sculpture on their Kickstarter page .

They need to raise $2500 in the next 10 days to meet their goal and you can contribute as little as a dollar (though $20 or more will get you a sweet Raise the Rex T-Shirt.) With Kickstarter, none of the donors get charged for their donation unless they reach their goal. Help ‘em out!
