Type1Rider Team Doing the 24 Hours of Booty!

Posted Oct 04 2009 11:14pm

I know... the 24 Hours of Booty... catchy name! It's a charity ride to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the Ulman Cancer Fund, and other cancer research venues. This year there are two locations, and T1R will have a charity team @ the Charlotte event venue participating in the ride!

You may ask... "I though T1R was about diabetes?" Well, we are. But we also help out other organizations that are close to our hearts and the lives of those we know as well. Race team members will be participating in the ADA Tour de Cure & the MS 150 this year, and we've all done rides for other organizations in the past as well.

The 24HOB is one that I've been interested in for a while, given that my mom has battled breast cancer, good friend have battled both bone & brain cancer, and others friends have family members of their own who've faced the challenges of cancer. It's also quite fitting to support LAF b/c of their extraordinary efforts along the cancer front... given the recent passing of my friend Coach Kay Yow from breast cancer.

My goal is to have at least one rider from our charity team clicking off miles for each of the 24 hours of the event! If you'd like to join us... register for the Charlotte event & join the " Type1Rider" team! Hope to see you there!

Take care --J
