Second Annual Austin Bike Poster Show calling for submissions

Posted Mar 08 2011 11:23am

Tom Linehan with the Austin Bike Poster Show let me know the group is putting together another exhibition for the 2011 Bike Month in May and is calling for poster submissions by Saturday, April 23, 2011.

I was one of the judges for last year and there were some great poster designs. Here is last year’s winner . Let your creative juices flow and help the show with its goal to get more people on bikes:

The Austin Bike Poster Show is designed to inspire people to get around Austin by bike, whether it’s to visit a neighbor three blocks away or to commute 5 miles to work it is more fun getting there by bike. Use your artistic talent and creativity to come up with the message and design that will inspire people to go by bike.

The Austin Bike Poster Show opening will be Friday, May 6 at the Frame Corner Gallery, 5601 Adams Ave and will run through Sunday, June 5 at both the Frame Corner Gallery and at City Hall. There is no cost to submit a poster, but you will be asked to supply 20 posters if you are selected as one of 20 finalists. Your posters will be sold through the show with 60% of the proceeds going to you.

More info on the show and submission guidelines on the Austin Bike Poster Show site .
