Yesterday we had an all day coverage of dense fog along the Lake Superior lake front. So it was a pleasant surprise to commute in sunshine today. It was a beautiful morning, and warm for November. Around 50 degrees for my morning commute. The afternoon commute was in rain. I stopped at home before going back out to my polling place to vote. Of course, I rode a bicycle there.

A view of the Duluth harbor, with Duluth's West End in the foreground and Superior, Wisconsin across the harbor.
I started this blog in December of 2005. At that time I didn't have a digital camera. I had low readership until I decided to buy a camera for the purpose of posting pictures to my blog in the spring of 2006.

This is the camera purchased. It's been a great camera except for one thing. It's big and heavy. I often leave it at home rather than carrying it along. I mentioned this to Susan last spring. She said she would like her own camera. She offered to buy me a smaller camera if she could have this one.
This past weekend it happened. She bought a new
Canon Elph SD1100 IS. I chipped in some cashola and the new camera is mine to use. What a difference. It is so much easier to carry on the bike. I even read some of the directions.

I was able to do some cool color swapping stuff like the above pumpkin. I never did read the directions on the old camera. I just pointed and shot, then downloaded. Maybe I'll be able to do more things with this new camera. Stay tuned.
