My Surly Cross Check: it just keeps going and going and going...

Long time riders will recognize this as my long term favorite commuter bike. I purchased this Cross Check back in 2005. Last fall, after 25,000 miles of mostly city riding and commuting, I decided to upgrade to a new Surly Cross Check frameset. I had barely stripped the parts off of it when DerrickP emailed me and expressed some interest in buying the frame from me. Eventually the deal was made and my dear old Cross Check frame was shipped to it's new home in Kentucky. If Derrick had not contacted me, this frame may still be sitting in the corner of my basement collecting dust.
What a thrill to learn it has gone to a new home that is making great use of it. Here it is in it's new configuration being used in many different ways Some utility work....
...and for date night with his wife.
...and Derrick himself commuting to work.
I couldn't have asked for a better home for my old Cross Check...enjoy Derrick!
