Leg warmers. Get a pair of leg warmers to put on below your bike shorts to keep your knees and lower legs warm. Lube it up. Make sure to put grease on your chain at least once a week. Protect your eyes. Don't forget sunglasses to protect your eyes from wind and sun. Spare tubes. Always bring a spare tube with you when you ride. Try booties. If your feet get cold when you ride, try getting a pair of booties to put on top of your biking shoes. Wear a bike jersey or synthetics. Wear a synthetic (non-cotton) top that wicks away moisture to keep you dry. Bike jerseys have a rear pocket to hold your gear. Wear a vest. A vest can help keep your core warm and block the wind. Wear bike shorts. Bike shorts have just the right padding in just the right places. You're rear end will thank you. Wear gloves. Wear biking gloves to protect your hands from the tension in your grip, and keep them from getting cut up if you crash. Wear your helmet. Never get on your bike without your helmet.
