City of Austin to hold first Austin Ciclovia planning meeting March 12

As part of Bike Month this year, the City of Austin has committed to holding its first ciclovía, a day where sections of public streets are shut down to automotive traffic and opened up to pedestrians and bicycles. The were first started in Colombía as a way to reclaim public space for people instead of cars as seen in this StreetFilms video.
Councilmember Chris Riley and city staff will be hold a planning meeting for this signature event on March 12 and all who want to help or provide input are invited.
