Boardwalk Trail extension vote moved to March 5, tell Council you want it!
Posted Feb 21 2009 10:39pm
The vote on Hike & Bike Trail boardwalk extension has been moved to March 5. That means you have a little more time to tell our city council members you support this project. Do it!
On March 5, the Austin City Council will be voting on a proposed plan for completing the gap in the Hike & Bike trail. We reported on a city meeting on this last month, and strongly support the idea of a boardwalk trail that completes the gap. Not only is this something many people in Austin have been waiting decades to see, but it could also be an innovative landmark, as the trail will cross land and water (floating!) in sections.
We’re urging all of our Austin readers to show their support for completing the Boardwalk Trail by emailing our City Council before the vote on the 26th:
