Austin couple to start 6 week bike tour to raise money for Austin-based immigrant shelter
Posted Sep 09 2010 12:29pm
This week, I got a message from Alice Gray and Lyon Graulty, an Austin couple who will be beginning a 1000 mile, 6 week bike tour that aims to raise money for Posada Esperanza, an Austin-based shelter for immigrant women and their children.
Neither Alice nor Lyon is a “bicycle buff,” nor have they completed a training regimen for the trek. They’ve been too busy working full time–Alice placing college students in foreign study programs and Lyon as a touring musician. They figure their first week riding from Seattle out to the coast will be their first real week of training.

1000 miles of riding with no training? Should be interesting! They will be starting their tour this weekend on September 10 and will be writing about their experience on their blog, Coasting Now.
