The Austin Cycling Association has put out a call for folks to volunteer to be ride starters for their Classic Rides. The Classic Rides are the Saturday and Sunday morning rides that rotate through the library of ACA club ride routes and usually alternate from north to south with the occasional east and west starting locations.
Here’s the info:
Calling all volunteers! I’m looking for some additional ride starters for the classic rides. It is an easy job and no experience is required. Ride-starting is a great way to meet your riding buddies, make new friends, and get in a great ride. All you need to do is make enough copies of the maps/cue sheets for all, show up about 20 minutes before the ride start, get rider’s signatures on a waiver form, hand out the maps, and hold a brief 5 minute rider’s meeting (there is a cue sheet). At that point, you’re free to ride with everyone else. No need to stay late.
If you are interested please send me an email email@example.com and I’ll add you to the mailing list.
