A2W hosts framebuilder roundtables at Texas Custom Bicycle Show on Saturday

Posted Oct 15 2010 10:16am

Saturday, the Texas Custom Bicycle Show will kick off at the Austin Music Hall, and Austin On Two Wheels will be adding a new program to the show this year with two Q&A framebuilder roundtable discussions. These will be conversations with some of the builders about what got them into building, what goes into building a custom bike, and their philosophy. In addition to questions from the moderator, we’ll have time for questions from the audience. If you are curious about what goes into making a custom bike, these should be some interesting sessions.

Session #1, Saturday, October 16, 11 AM at the Austin Music Hall

A conversation with Tim Massengill from Massengill Frames , Jeremy Shlachter of Gallus Cycles and Cody Baron of True Fabrication

Session #2, Saturday, October 16, 1 PM at the Austin Music Hall

A conversation with James Flatman of Alchemy Bicycle Company , Brad Cason of KirkLee Bicycles and Dimitri Harris of MEECH .

If you can’t make it or want to know more about many of our local builders, check out some of these framebuilder profiles we’ve published in the last two years.

Social Cycling Austin hosting ride to the Texas Custom Bicycle Show

If you don’t want to go to the show alone, join Social Cycling Austin with their social ride to the Music Hall Saturday morning at the Lamar Blvd Pfluger Pedestrian bridge.

Let’s take a leisurely 10 mile roll around Austin and then head to the Texas Custom Bicycle Show.  We will meet at 10am and head out at 10:20am. Mellow Johnny’s will be providing bike valet service to all show attendees. All levels are welcome.
