Pedro Martinez, a free agent pitcher looking for a place to play, has been mentioned more frequently with the Los Angeles Angels after the death of Nick Adenhart and because Kelvim Escobar, John Lackey, and Ervin Santana won't be back until mid to late May.
Martinez could become an option if he would lower his salary demands, according to the Boston Globe. Even Martinez's former boss, Dan Duquette, text-messaged him to get back on the field soon because the game needs him.
