I feel like a tightness in my throat all the time that worsens when I go to sleep and try to lay on a pillow. It feels like there is something in there pushing, making it hard to breathe when I lay down. I feel a general tenderness and tightness around my Adam's apple area, but really throughout my whole throat.
Hello and thank you for sharing your concerns. You do not say how long you have been experiencing this problem but it is very important that you now seek advice from your doctor to eliminate any possible physical cause of the problem.
This is a very important first step.
If there is no physical cause and your doctor gives you the all-clear then you may like to consider consulting a well-qualified and experienced hypnotherapist who can help you to let go of any muscular tension that may be causing tightness in your throat area.
It can be quite common for anxiety and stress to produce these sensations - but you must seek medical advice to rule out any physical problems first.
