I've been having a severe burning pain in my buttocks, hip, thigh, legs and feet since July 2008. It hurts to the point a light touch or anything against it is unbreable, or feels like it is on fire, and from my knees down it feels like they are going to explode.
In Dec 2008 I had a lumbar laminectomy with fusion and hardware from the S1 to L5. The doctor's thought the pain and burning was because of my back. After surgery the symptoms keep getting worse and now I'm having electric shock feelings in my legs and instead of tunnel vision I am now having double vision. I've had a headache for the past 2 months that is made worse by any type of light.
Instead of getting better I'm getting worse and am still having to use a walker or cane to get around because I'm not stable when I walk.
I've had an MRI and a CT scan and my neurosurgeon said that the hardware is in place, but now feels that I may have meningitis. All of my blood work has come back normal. I feel like he is dragging his feet trying to figure out what is wrong and this was his diagnosis on Feb 3, and I just got my blood results last week.
I am to the place I have to have help with every day things, I'm worse now than before I had surgery. Any help you could would be greatly appreciated.
