Hello, I am a 34 year old male who has never had any real health concerns. I don't drink, smoke or participate in any other "risky" behaviors that could cause me health issues. Just recently, the back of my neck became increasingly tender to the touch, and I noticed a lump forming under the skin, just below the hairline on the right side of my neck. It has now grown considerably and is very tender to the touch. The area around the lump is also tender to the touch. If I turn my head to the left or the right, it is painful as well. The top of the lump is perhaps the size of a marble and very red but there is no "head" on it. I plan on getting this checked out by a physician but wanted to perhaps know what I might be in for when I have my visit. Thank you very much for your time and expertise!
