What can be causing stiffness and discomfort in the left side of my neck,shoulder chest area?

I have discomfort and stiffness in the left side of my neck and right shoulder chest region.  Its been pretty persistent for about 2 weeks now.   It usually bothers me more and more as the day goes on and less after I sleep.  I do smoke marijuana daily and this seems to bother it as well.  I seen a doctor and had xrays done and nothing was seen.  Any ideas on what this could be?
