upper back shoulder and neck area swelling and shooting pain what could cause this and how can i heal my self?

i am a 77 year old women and i have worked in the factories all my life and i have had this for at least 2-3 months i am out of work now and i was wondering how to help/find out how to help this out i have had an MRI and they asked me if i have had any back problems and i always say NO. so just wondering why this is happening and how i can help and heal my self and what could have caused this. thanks
