UPPER BACK PAIN...

Posted Sep 06 2010 8:43am

Upper back pain is usually nothing life threatening but a pain from the neck and top of the lumber spine, also called middle back pain or thoracic pain.

Usually most upper back pain is from poor posture, a whiplash, large breasts, osteoporosis, stiffness, muscular spasm, fibromyalgia or inflammation.

It can suddenly come on after a sneeze or cough or from the way you have twisted awkwardly.

Treatment for upper back pain can be heat and or ice, injections, muscle relaxants, physiotherapy, traction, and ultrasound.

Surgery in this part of your back would be the last option as it is the most complex area of your body to operate on.
