Tai Chi for back pain and other types of muscle pain

A lot of research has been done with Tai Chi, and pain relief. Its an ancient tradition said to have been developed in medieval China to help restore health of monks in poor physical condition.

It involves rhythmic, gentle, graceful and mystical movements and is a safe way to relieve pain. Its even good for back pain as it improves your posture which then improves your pain as it does not involve any jarring motions that can create an impact on the spine.

The three components are movement, breathing and meditation and classed as an alternative therapy which is practised in early mornings in China and also in American parks, hospitals and community centres, with people of all ages learning it.

I must admit I have never seen it advertised in pain clinics or anyone mention it to me before but if you cannot find a class you can buy dvd's to follow it, and it is certainly something I quite fancy giving having a go at....................
