The Subcapularis muscle is a part of the rotator cuff muscles. It is a stabilizing for the shoulder. It allows for inward rotation of the shoulder.
A tear can occur in the subcapularis muscle with an acute injury during sports and also degeneration.
Usually surgery is an option for a subscapularis tear with a rehabilitation program afterward.
