Spinal Disc Nutrition, Magic Bullets, and a Healthy Lifestyle

Fel_1771 When it comes to nutrition, it seems like everyone is always looking for that magic bullet. A food or a supplement that will cure a specific condition...such as a herniated disc or spinal disc degeneration. Or that weight loss pill that will allow them to eat Twinkies all day and lose weight at the same time. Well...I don't believe in magic bullets.

However...I do believe in the magic power that transforms food into living, thinking, breathing, flesh and blood...the magic power inside you. The wisdom of the body, nature, innate intelligence, whatever you want to call it. Your body re-creates itself moment to moment.   It takes the food that you eat, the water that you drink, and the oxygen that you breath, and converts it into YOU on an ongoing basis. NOW THAT'S MAGIC.

But to think that you can feed the body garbage day in and day out and still re-create healthy organs, bones, spinal discs, and tissues, is a little far fetched. It's even a further stretch to think that you can then pop a few vitamin pills and supplements and everything will be OK. That's just not the way it works.

You wouldn't even expect a nice sports car to work like that. If you put cheap gas into it and did not take care of it properly it would run poorly and eventually break down. Or, you wouldn't expect your pet goldfish to live very long if you kept the tank dirty and fed it poorly. Well, the same is true of our bodies, our overall health...and yes...our spinal discs.

If we want to increase the odds that our cells, tissues, glands, and organs  will be healthy and function at optimum levels...we need to create a healthy context for them. CONTEXT=LIFESTYLE.

As far as nutrition goes...A PLANT BASED DIET IS BEST.
