Shoulder Pain

About three weeks ago I woke up in severe pain that was coming from the base of my neck that went along to my shoulder. It ran along where my clavicle is in the front only. I could barely sleep at night for about two weeks. I just worked through it though. It has gotten better but it still hurts off and on or if I touch it in a certain spot. What I'm asking is does anybody have an idea as to what it could be?
