Serious Low Back Pain in San Francisco?

Images[1]If you are suffering with serious low back pain what kind of treatment should you consider?

Well...a lot of it depends on how long you have had your back pain and what you have done for it so far. Heck, most cases of new low back pain resolve on their own...so doing nothing is a treatment option. I don't recommend it...because the #1 predisposing factor for chronic persistent low back pain is previous back pain.

The reasons for this are fairly obvious...for every effect there is a cause...and for every cause there is an effect. So...if you have low back pain, your body (your back) is telling your brain there is damaged tissue of some sort...it's a warning sign...all pain is.  So sure, you can ignore it...but what if a bone is out of place in the low back and stays out of place...even though the symptoms are gone?

Hey...maybe nothing happens and you live happily ever-after. But what if because of that misalignment things start to break down (silently) and you develop degenerated discs or a disc herniation? Wouldn't it have been a lot better to have visited a chiropractor for a few sessions to fix it all up when it happened?...I think so.

Anyway, all serious back pain in my opinion should be examined by a chiropractor...and it's a lot easier to fix a problem right after it happens than it is after it has wreaked havoc. If you hit a curb with your car and knock the front end out of alignment would you wait until the tires went bald to fix it?

No...you would take it in right away so the tires continued to wear evenly...you should give the same attention to your spine.

When it comes to chronic low back pain, chiropractic is a great first choice also, along with exercise and massage. We incorporate all 3 at Executive Express Chiropractic, as do most chiropractors. If chiropractic can't help there is nonsurgical spinal decompression...at least that's my next step.

Sure, there are medications, surgery, acupuncture, back swings, home traction, miracle pills, etc...but nothing touches chiropractic for low back pain...and there is plenty of science to support this.

So...if you have serious back pain pick up the phone and call a chiropractor...because chances are...you will be glad you did.
