San Francisco Office Workers Ask:Can Chiropractic help My Upper Back Pain?

Posted Jun 02 2009 4:32pm

San Francisco Chiropractor Comments:

Images[2] We have been helping SF Financial District office workers for over 17 years at our San Francisco Chiropractic Centers. Our new clinic... Executive Express Chiropractic, which is located at the landmark Embarcadero Center near the Ferry Building, offers Express Chiropractic services primarily to those who spend their day sitting in front of a computer.

When you sit in front of a computer, your head, which weighs about 10 lbs., has the tendency to move toward the computer monitor screen. This puts a tremendous amount of stress on the posterior cervical muscles (upper back muscles) that attach to the back of the skull and can result in upper back pain...and pain between the shoulders. It can be very uncomfortable and can become chronic.

Cervical Some of our San Francisco patients with chronic upper back pain also present with headaches and neck pain...some even have pain in the arms and hands and numbness in the fingers. The reason for this is because there are  nerves that exit from in between the posterior cervical muscles that travel down the arm and into the hand. Pressure on these nerves can cause arm pain, hand pain, numbness in the fingers, and loss of grip strength.

Because upper back pain is so common with SF office workers, we have become very proficient at treating it over the years. In fact, we have a complete chiropractic protocol that seems to work about 90% of the time. We treat upper back pain with a combination of chiropractic adjustments, Active Release Techniques (ART),  traction, massage, and exercise...along with ice, home care,  and ergonomic advice...it' s very comprehensive.

How long it takes to fix a case of upper back pain just depends on the nature and severity of the condition. Sometimes it just takes a few visits...other times it takes a few months. But heck...it' s all natural and for the most part painless. In fact, most of our SF upper back pain patients start feeling better right away...it sure beats the alternatives...usually pain pills and muscle relaxers.

So anyway...yes San Francisco...we treat upper back pain at Executive Express Chiropractic...and we do it with no-waiting and no hassles...and you can just walk-in during open hours without an appointment (M-F 9-6, Sat 9-1).

To make an appointment at Executive Express...simply call 415-392-2225 or request an appointment online...or just come on down.
