pain in my lower left back area and tail bone. I didn't fall, no infection, no kidney stones. What else could it be?

I have a pain in my lower left back (kidney area) and my tail bone.  Both have come on gradually over the last two months.  A urine test showed no infection and a CAT scan showed no kidney stones.  My doctor gave me ibuprofen and said it would go away but it hasn't in two weeks.  It hurts to sit, lay down, or walk.  What else could be going on?
