I had a lovely day out with my friend today with me playing nurse instead of the patient for a change. She had done her back in and was in a right mess and if there is something I know a lot about, its back problems.
I picked her up and carefully put her into my car and at put the car seat heat pad on to keep her warm and drove her over to Castle Marina in Nottingham where there is a fantastic house shop.
You walk in and its a female sanctuary. I love it, colours all round the store with matching house and garden products to choose from.
Mosaic after mosaic in gorgeous colours, flowers of every colour and description so real its not worth buying the real thing.
Scents float around from the abundance of candles and soaps with so many you find it hard to make up your mind which one you want.
There is nothing like a bit of retail therapy to cheer you up. My friend adores colour and turquoise is one of her favourite colours so a number of them were in her trolley.
I was looking for something for my twin for her birthday and just knew she would love anything I bought, but I just kept putting things down then picking them up again.
I eventually made a decision but think I will be back there for some more retail therapy soon.
I then took her to the pub on the marina which looks out at all the narrow boats and we had a nice sandwich and a drink then I dropped her of at home and made her go to bed and rest her back some more.
The minute I got home my adrenalin stopped working and I felt absolutely shattered but a nice shattered and one I hope I will do again soon. I think it was definitely the feeling of being the carer rather than the other way round that made the difference today, just wish I was fit enough to help people some more.
