lumps in lower back causing pain ?

i have anout 13 lumps all over my lower back that hurt when they are touched and its causing my lower back to hurt bad , i went to the doctor and they told me that it was normal , i dont think its normal for a 17 year old to have so many of these lumps that are causing so much pain.
