IS CHRONIC PAIN 'LIFE THREATENING' OR 'LIFE CHANGING'...

Eventually, you realise that you have to change your way of life when you are in chronic pain. Short walks to replace your longer ones. Cooking habits made easier. Future aspirations and dreams have to be changed.
With limited amounts of strength and energy you try to do just enough, but not too much before the pain can get out of control.
I'm sure there are many marriages that are pulled apart by illness, mine is one that has survived and, if anything, has become even stronger.
I know my limitations, I've had to make changes and sacrifices to accommodate my condition. But, for some who are accustomed to being healthy, feeling a loss of control, grieving over lost functions and opportunities can be threatening to them.
Many problems come with a chronic illness. Trying to find new way to do something that is routine to most can be a challenge to me.
I have found that writing has become my friend, when no one is around to hear your troubles, or just listen, it can be there for you.
I also feel fortunate that I suffer from nothing that actually is 'life threatening', and accept the situation as it is.
So, to my question of 'is chronic pain, life threatening or life changing? My answer would have to be 'life changing'.
