I've been having pain in my lower neck whenever I touched the area it feels sore what may be the problem?

This may be the cervico-thoracic junction you are talking about- in other words, the area between the neck and midback area. You may have irritated the paraspinal muscles surrounding the bones in that area. There may also be inflammation, which is often tender to the touch.  It may appear red, and have slight swelling as well. - NJ
