It happened during a visit to the Chiropractor. He was treating me for some other problems and decided to try adjusting my neck in a different manor than we were normally using. So, as he did the adjustment, I felt a little snap - it was not painful at all - it was like if you were to stretch a rubber band past its ability to stretch and it breaks. It sounded (inside my own head, he didn't hear it) like compressed air releasing for a split second. About an hour after the adjustment swelling showed up right where I felt the snap. That was two years ago. I have had an exray and they found nothing. I've had a CT scan, they found nothing. I'm at my wits end. Anyway, it's not painful, and it doesn't prevent me from doing my day to day things but if I carry my purse on that shoulder, or tilt my head down for a long period of time, like for writing or crafting - it will become achy and bothersome. I have to take ibuprofen or something, lay down and after a day or two of that, it's fine again until I overuse it again. Does anyone have any thoughts on what is going on? I'm thinking a tendon ruptured or something. But if I had some idea of what it was, I may know better how to explain it to the Dr or better how to treat it. I don't know. I just know I'm desperate for some leads or ideas... Help!
