Herniated Disc Treatment: Are There Nonsurgical Options?

San Francisco Chiropractor and Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:
Up until recently, herniated discs ( see spine.health.com disc herniation video ) were thought to be untreatable...at least according to main stream medicine. Many alternative healing methods, including Chiropractic have always thought they could help them...but there was really no proof...other than patient feedback...which has always been good.
But over the past several years this has all changed. A new therapy called nonsurgical spinal decompression has taken the medical world by storm and is delivering incredible results for the treatment of cervical and lumbar disc herniations. And get this...spinal decompression actually heals the injured disc. It repairs it and repositions the disc back to where it should be.
Sure, spinal decompression therapy does not help everyone that does it...but nothing does. And decompression therapy is very safe...and gentle. Yes there are patients that get sore...some real sore...it's just rare. And heck...they are already sore.
The treatment IS physical so you have to be ready for possible soreness. But I can't tell you how many times we worked through soreness with a very difficult disc herniation...even multiple herniations...only to end up pain free.
