Herniated disc at L-4-S-1

Posted by pamela439

I fell last October and after a lot of pain, tests, Physical Therapy, I was sent to a pain specialist. He has done 3 seperate epidural spinal injections. They have given me some relief. My question is this. Is it normal to have vaginal cramping due to disc damage? I have cramping like I am on my period and I am not. Between the pain, it almost feels like labor pains.

It isn't all the time, and generally will go away with Advil, but it is very odd,and not something I mentioned to the doctor as it doesnt' happen all the time.

My pain level has gone from a 7 to a 4 since the caudell injections over the past 3 weeks, but not gone completely. Can I expect to have pain for the rest of my life?

The best thing I have seen for herniated discs in the low back is something called non-surgical spinal decompression.  The number of treatments will depend on the patient and their condition.  This should work well considering you've had some improvement with the epidurals.  This treatment is completely relaxing, no pins and needles, no medication, and gives some pretty quick results.
