Healing is a complicated and dynamic process. A lot has been written about the fact that to be completely healed means much more than physical improvement.

Craniosacral Therapy is a non-invasive therapy that focuses on restoring our body's natural self healing mechanisms. It was developed from the work of an American Osteopath, Dr William Sutherland in the early 1990's.

This type of treatment can be very effective in treating back problems as its aim is to let your body treat itself, until you can feel the pain go away and feel relaxed.

The therapist will make contact by placing their hands to touch various areas of your body while you lie or sit fully clothed. The therapist is trying to feel the tidal movement instigated by the primary respiratory system.

The first thing you will notice is a sense of deep relaxation, which will generally last throughout the session. As it is such a gentle therapy it is suitable for babies, children and the elderly.

Treatment can and aid almost any condition raising vitality and improving the body's capacity for self repair.

A good website to start at is which gives you lots of information on the treatment and links to therapists in your area.

I have had this treatment in the past but unfortunately for me the pain release was not long enough and I also missed the hands on touch of massage to relax all my muscles but its ideal for anyone with an acute problem.
