Headaches, Cervical Decompression and Chiropractic

San Francisco Spinal Decompression Doctor Comments:
I have been a practicing chiropractic in the San Francisco Financial District for 17 years. Prior to that...I was a chiropractic patient for many years. I had really bad migraine headaches that were causing me to miss work and take pain medications. Chiropractic got rid of them.
Since I have been a chiropractor...I have helped thousands of headache sufferers...mostly with great success. But every once in a while chiropractic care would not help. And that is still the case.
But...when I started using nonsurgical spinal decompression ( DRX9000c ) in my downtown SF office about 3 years ago, I noticed something. Many patients with cervical disc herniations also had headaches. And many of these patients had already tried chiropractic treatment for their herniated disc symptoms, such as neck pain, arm pain, numbness and tingling...and weakness of grip.
So now...when I have a headache patient that does not respond to traditional chiropractic...I think maybe we should rule out herniated disc in the neck. Maybe we should get an MRI...and often times we do. Then...sure enough...most of the time, that's what we find.
