DRX9000 Nutritional Support

Posted Jun 02 2009 4:34pm

San Francisco DRX 9000 Spinal Decompression Center comments on Herniated Spinal Disc Nutrition:

Wel0531 It is our firm belief that the best way to provide nutritional support during the spinal decompression process is to adopt a plant based diet during the 6 week program. By it's very nature, a plant based diet is anti-inflammatory. The typical American diet is pro-inflammatory, because of all the animal protein, simple carbs, and fats. Heck, 70% of our population is overweight. Not only will a plant based diet reduce inflammation, it will most likely result in weight loss, which will result in less stress on the spinal discs. Who knows, maybe you will stick with the program after the DRX9000 Decompression sessions are over. Lots of my patients have. The best resources for plant based nutrition are www.drmcdougall.com and www.deanornish.com. I also recommend you read the China Study.

Spinal Decompression patients should also drink 80-100oz of clean water per day. Decompression Therapy causes trapped toxins to be released from the injured spinal discs. The water helps to flush them out. We also recommend Fish Oil supplementation which has been shown to reduce inflammation and assist in herniated disc repair. It must be pharmaceutical grade.  So, this is my best advice. Probably not music to your ears, but it's solid advice. Give it a shot and see how you feel.

If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area and would like to find out if you are a candidate for care at our SF Financial District Spinal Decompression Center, simply call 415-392-2225 and ask for a complimentary consultation with Dr. Eben Davis.
