Does Milk Prevent Osteoporosis?

Got_milk[1] The dairy industry wants us all to believe that Milk is Good Food. And they bombard us with their multi-million dollar ad campaign... Got Milk?

So...is milk good for us? Does milk really prevent osteoporosis by keeping our bones strong? Should our children be drinking milk? These are very controversial questions...and the answers could very well determine the health and well being of you and and your family.

I used to lecture extensively, and one of my most popular seminars was Diet, Health, and Nutrition: The Principles of Plant Based Nutrition. I would always start the seminar by saying that all I wanted to do was provide information that could be used to help attendees make better decisions about food choices...because most of the information that people get (and use to make decisions) is from TV, advertising, and well meaning (but not necessarily informed) sources. And their upbringing (including parents and school).

So...anyway, here is a very informative article I found on the subject entitled:

Dairy Products and 10 False Promises

Check it out and let me know what you think. There is also much more information on the Milk-Dairy-Osteoporosis subject at www.drmcdougall.com.
