Chiropractic care helps fibromyalgia patients with sleep problems

People with fibromyalgia come into my chiropractic office every day and frequently they look if they didn’t get a good nights sleep. In reality, one of the symptoms of fibromyalgia is poor sleep. This creates a viscous cycle; pain leads to poor sleep which leads to more pain, taking pain medication, decreased exercise, increased weight gain and more poor sleep.
Disrupted sleep in fibromyalgia patients inhibits the body’s release of human growth hormone with is essential for tissue repair and maintenance. This creates another bad cycle I see in my chiropractic office.
Gentle chiropractic care can begin the process of helping people with chronic pain and improve their sleep. We can reverse the poor sleep/pain/poor sleep cycle and help control the other symptoms. Go to our website at www.southingtonchiropractor.com to find out more about what we can do to help you.
