Chiropractic and Migraine Headaches

San Francisco Chiropractor Comments:

Migraine headache treatmen sf My first visit to the chiropractor was for migraine headaches when I was a child. It turned out I had knocked some bones out of place in my neck playing sports. The chiropractor fixed the headaches in two visits and that was that. The migraines never bothered me again until about 15 years later.

Why I didn't go straight to the chiropractor again, I don't know? Maybe it was supposed to be a learning experience, because that's certainly what it turned out to be.

The migraine headaches I began to experience as an adult became very intense and began to interfere with my work and home life. I saw many doctors, had a brain scan, an MRI, and took just about every headache drug known to man...the headaches just got worse.

It wasn't until I came to my senses and saw a chiropractor that the migraine headaches got better...almost overnight. I ended up becoming best friends with my chiropractor and it was this experience that made me decide I wanted to become a chiropractor.

After-all...how was it that all the top headache specialists I saw put together could not come up with any answers...yet the chiropractor knew just what to do?

I wanted to learn how to do that.

In the past 18 years I have helped thousands of headache sufferers return to more normal lives. Sure there have been some migraine headache patients that did not respond to chiropractic at all...but it's the exception and not the rule.

If there is a vertebrae in your neck that is out of alignment causing pressure on your brain stem, spinal cord, or nerves...it can cause migraine headaches. Chiropractors call this condition a Vertebral Subluxation ...it's what we treat.

If the cause of the headaches is physical (Vertebral Subluxation) then a chemical solution (drugs) does not make sense.

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying that migraine medications or hormone therapy will never help a migraine headache...because they often times will if the problem is chemical or hormonal. But they wont do anything if the problem is physical...and in my opinion most headaches have a physical cause.

So do yourself a favor if you are suffering from migraines...visit a chiropractor and find out if your condition has a physical component. And don't be surprised if your headaches go away quick...mine did.
