Can neck/shoulder pain be caused by sinitus infection?

I have been having trouble with my neck and right shoulder since I ve had a severe sinus infection. The sinuses most bothered are on the same side my neck and back hurt. Could it be due to the infection from my sinuses getting into my muscles in my neck and back?
