Back Surgery and Second Opinions

Posted Jun 02 2009 4:34pm

San Francisco Chiropractor and Chronic Back Pain Doctor comments:

I just read a really interesting article on the excellent www.spine-health.com website. The article is entitled How and When to get a Second Opinion Before Surgery. The article talks about how getting a second opinion for back surgery may sound like a good idea on the surface...But, the reality is that the second opinion always sounds better than the first one. He explains how this is a well-recognized phenomenon. I guess it's just the way we are wired. Anyway the M.D. that wrote the article makes some very good points and suggestions that I tend to agree with. Not just for back surgery, but for any kind of health care. Just being armed with this knowledge will help you make better choices. This is a must read for anyone considering surgery or a second opinion, especially if the first opinion makes sense to you.

If you would like to find out if you are a candidate for care at our San Francisco Back & Wrist Pain Center, please call 415-392-2225 and ask for a complimentary consultation.
